Dr Verona Botha is a consultant ophthalmologist passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
Dr Botha specialises in oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery as well as cataract surgery.
After completing her medical training at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, Dr Botha relocated to New Zealand. Here she completed her ophthalmology training through the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists while working in various departments around New Zealand. She then completed multiple international fellowships including at the West of England Eye Unit and the University Hospital of Wales.
Dr Botha also works at Waikato Hospital. She is actively involved in research and is widely published in international peer-reviewed journals.
Dr Botha is actively involved in governance and is a member of various committees for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. She is also a member of the Australian New Zealand Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeons.
